NBA 2K Mobile has a social media following of well over half a million across both Twitter and Instagram. We use these channels to inform our players about limited events, card releases and as an opportunity to reflect on what's happening in the current NBA season via humorous videos and various tie-ins.
Videos are created using a combination of After Effects and Blender. Gameplay capture is sometimes required as are high-quality card assets, both which are obtained via proprietary tools.

Gameplay Capture

Here you'll find a short gameplay capture reel. Gameplay capture is utilized in social assets and in various other marketing elements such as targeted and broadcast ads.
The basis of good gameplay capture is of course, good gameplay, and as such requires some amount of skill with the game itself. My process usually involved making a good play then replaying it dozens of times via different camera angles to generate camera coverage and avoid things such as clipping, animation errors, and low-quality models.
User Acquisition Ads

Another video responsibility involved creating/updating reward videos for the title's semi-regular battlepass releases. These videos were distributed in the game itself.
This involved carefully coordinating with the LiveOps team on what was included in each pass, and manually encoding the videos into different bitrates so they could be hosted directly.
