Roto Rooter: "The Drain Gang"

The Drain Gang was a multi-part online web series concepted and created for national plumbing client Roto-Rooter. We pitched this as a mix between Saturday morning cartoons and something you'd find on late night Cartoon Network. The concept revolves around a cadre of drain problems and otherwise flushable things that were brought to life by in-house agency talent.

Here you can see some of the work that went into designing and developing this project.
Character design and key animation (such as the mouth animation below) was handled by intern Mathew Roe who specialized in illustration. I supervised Mathew so that we could easily bring his art into After Effects, where the entire project would come to life via puppet pins and some good old fashioned keyframing.
